Shear Care Instructions

Extending The Life Of Your Shear
How To Care For Your Shear. Never cut anything other than human hair with your shears. Wipe all perm or chemical solutions off of your shears immediately after use. Oil your shears every day using our Shear Maintenance Instructions. Keep your tension adjusted properly using our Shear Maintenance Instructions. Always keep your shears closed and in a protective case when you are not using them. Send your shears to KareCo's Authorized Shear Service Center a minimum of once a year for Precision Performance Service.

How To Effectively Use Your Shear
The razor sharp blades of your KareCo shears should require very little pressure to achieve maximum cutting efficiency. With your thumb controlling the moving blade, use an effortless movement, opening and closing the shear to complete the cut. Cutting in this manner will keep your hands and fingers in an open and relaxed position, which will reduce fatigue.

What If Your Shear Is Bending the Hair?
Never use force or put excessive pressure on your shears. A tightened grip and exaggerated cutting movement will result in premature wearing of the blades and severe damage to the convex edges, structure and balance of your shears. If you find you are using force to cut with your shear, or your shear is bending the hair, try adjusting the tension or send your shears in for Precision Performance Service.

Washing Instructions for Large Neck Duster

  1. Start by removing all the loose hairs from the neck duster.
  2. Wet the brush bristles thoroughly with luke warm water.
  3. Apply a small dab of gentle shampoo or liquid soap directly to the bristles.
  4. Work the shampoo through the bristles for a few seconds like you would shampooing your hair.
  5. Rinse the bristles thoroughly under luke warm running water, very gently squeezing the excess water out, then reshaping the bristles to their normal shape.
  6. To dry, lay the brush on a dark color towel in a flat position.
  7. Allow approximately 24 - 48 hours for the neck duster to dry completely.

    KareCo International offers an exclusive 3-Way Warranty with the purchase of any KareCo shear along with a 30 day money back guarantee. For both the 30 day trial returns and any warranty work, you MUST provide a copy of your receipt with the shears. Please use the following guidelines to handle any of your warranty concerns:

  2. 30-Day Money Back Guarantee:
    KareCo offers a money back guarantee within 30 days from the purchase date of the shear if you are not completely satisfied with their shear. Simply return the shear in its original packaging back to KareCo along with a copy of the receipt for a full refund. KareCo will not take back the shear without the receipt.

  3. Lifetime Defect Warranty:
    KareCo shears are unconditionally guaranteed to be free of material or workmanship defects for the life of the product. The shear must be returned to The Perfect Edge along with the receipt and $14 for shipping and handling. Please follow the instructions on the warranty card issued with the shear. The shear will be inspected completely by The Perfect Edge and upon completion of inspection, the shear will be fixed by The Perfect Edge.

  4. Edge Performance Warranty:
    KareCo shears are guaranteed to be effective in cutting for one year from date of purchase with receipt. Accidental edge nicks and drops are also covered for one year from date of purchase with receipt. The shear must be returned to The Perfect Edge along with the receipt and $14 for shipping and handling. Please follow the instructions on the warranty card issued with the shear. The Perfect Edge performs this work and gets the shear out of their facilities in 48 hours.

  5. Parts Replacement Warranty:
    KareCo International will replace any lost KareCo shear parts (including silencers, pivot screws, finger rests, washers and finger ring inserts) for one year from date of purchase with receipt. The shear must be returned to The Perfect Edge along with the receipt and $14 for shipping and handling. Please follow the instructions on the warranty card issued with the shear. The Perfect Edge performs this work and gets the shear out of their facilities in 48 hours.

Please do not send any shears back to KareCo for warranty work. If the shears come back to KareCo for warranty work, they will be sent back to you at your expense.

The Perfect Edge also offers parts or performance repair after the one year warranty expires. For this type of work, your client can send back the shears to The Perfect Edge including $30. If no payment is included with the shears, they will be returned to the client at their expense.

Return Policies

When promotional items are advertised or promoted offering a manufacturer warranty, the warranty is provided by the manufacturer of the specific product, not KareCo International, Inc. The following are basic guidelines for a KareCo International, Inc. product return:

Promotional and Open Stock Product Return
All returned goods must be in new and saleable condition. All products must be in original packaging and in complete selling units. KareCo will accept returns within 14 days. All returns will be inspected by KareCo before credit is issued. No credits will be issued for loose product. All loose product sent to KareCo will not be processed as a return.

Defective Merchandise - Excluding Shears
Product that has been misused or abused will not be accepted as a defective return. Salon apparel will only be accepted for missing snaps or improper stitching. The manufacturer does not consider color staining, normal wear, or heat damage to be a manufacturer defect.

if you receive a damaged or defective item, contact KareCo within 7 days of delivery at (877)495-7921. Please be prepared to supply the order number and item number and we will make every effort to assist you with your return. If you do not contact KareCo before you send the damaged item back, you are responsible for all return shipping charges. Online merchandise sent back to KareCo 14 days or more after the date of purchase cannot be accepted/processed as a return.

  • For warranty work, send the shear to The Perfect Edge, following the detailed instructions on the warranty card provided when the shear was purchased. The customer must adequately package the shear when sending the shear back and insurance is strongly recommended.
  • For both the 30-Day Money Back Guarantee return and any warranty work, a copy of the receipt MUST be provided with the shears.

Shear Policy & Procedures

Within One-Year period (Warranty)

If a customer is unhappy with their shears and it falls within the 30-day period from time of purchase, they can return it to KareCo International and receive a full refund. The reasons for a refund would be: defective under 3-Way Warranty, received damaged or Customer unsatisfied within 30 days. To return a shear please call or email KareCo for further instructions. Each shear needs to include the Shear in original packaging, dated customer receipt from purchase, reason for return and date of return.

If a customer is unhappy with their shears and it is after the 30-day period, they must send their shears in for warranty service. NOTE: There are no exchanges on KareCo shears.

How the customer should send in shears for warranty service:
  • Package the shear in a padded envelope or other adequate package.
  • Fill out all information on the Warranty Service order form included with your shear purchase.
  • Include $14.00 shipping and handling.
  • Include dated receipt from purchase.

After One-Year period (Non-Warranty)

If after the One-Year period a customer is unhappy with their shears, they can send their shears in for a Precision Performance Service.

  • Fill out all information on the Warranty Service Instructions card included with your shear purchase.
  • Include $30.00 for service. This includes return shipping and handling.
